About Us
Give Away A Smile was founded on the principle of sustainable development. We are a non-traditional charity in that we consistently ensure to make use of local talent in all of our projects. This way, we maximize the benefit for the community.
Our method allows for the promotion of skills development, and this increases the local people’s ability to obtain employment or establish a new venture of their own. Through our organized activities, sports, educational and social programmes, we work to improve on the opportunities that may come to children from less-fortunate backgrounds.
With the support of international companies, we run projects in East African, underprivileged, neighborhoods.
In doing this, we pay special focus to what is needed within the specific community in order to improve the standard of living.
We are currently running projects in East Africa
with special focus in Kenya & Tanzania
Youths
Our youth-centred projects are developed to promote the incorporation of a larger, and global, community; improving on the lives of the next generation by creating sustainable relationships between companies, societies and individuals.
Thus, we create a channel, through which adults may be able to impart knowledge and exchange thoughts, and experiences, with young people.
The goal is to promote productive, entrepreneurial and cooperative societies.
Women
Give Away A Smile aims to empower women. One way in which we do this is by providing them with the tools to learn how to make traditional jewellery, decor and other artifacts, from locally sourced and/or recycled materials, which they are able to sell.
This allows for women, and children, in the community to cultivate their skill, nurture their heritage and provide for themselves, as well as for their families, in a sustainable manner.
The Conscientious, Innovative and Creative
In order to encourage those who are conscientious, innovative and creative, we create specific programmes and activities which are aimed towards the character development of young people.
The benefit is that they may be able to build their own organizations together with local leaders, or join existing organizations and be able to thrive in the future.
Entrepreneurship creates opportunities for more members in the community by increasing employment. It brings about economic prosperity when more individuals are engaged. It is highly advantageous in developing countries where it may allow for an increased momentum of growth.
